About Me

Kate Walsh was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland and later studied visual communication at the College of Marketing and Design, now known as Technological University Dublin.

After graduating, Kate began a career as a freelance artist which spanned over 30 successful years. Throughout her career Kate has worked as an illustrator with Ireland’s leading publishers of educational textbooks, the Educational Company of Ireland (EDCO), Gill and Follens. Later she worked on promotional artwork for EMI Records, a British record label owned by Universal Music Group. Kate broadened her artistic skills and developed a passion for photography. Success followed and she worked for 10 years as a lecturer at the highly regarded National College of Art and Design, Dublin.

Kate is now a full time watercolour artist living in the seaside village of Howth. Her love of the Irish landscape has led Kate on a journey studying the ever-changing nature of dusk and dawn. Fascinated by how the light and dark emotionally impacts us, her paintings take an ethereal nature.
